A Mathematica code providing error bounds for splitting methods applied to unitary problems 


In the paper



we present a systematic analysis of local and global errors arising when arbitrary splitting methods are applied to unitary problems. Two complementary types of error estimates are derived. The first is expressed in terms of operator norm, while the second is formulated using norms of commutators of the operators involved. The Mathematica code we include here incorporates the necessary routines to implement the recursive procedure presented in the text to provide explicit expressions for the error bounds in the later case when only two operators are involved.
